Classroomcompass
Student names, and parent contact details (phone numbers/emails) are the only personal identifiable information (PII) stored. In addition to these items, notes and files that users choose to upload are stored.
On Appwrite Cloud. Each organization's records live in a separate database and file store, and access is enforced by the server against your organization's team. An account belonging to one organization cannot read another's data, and that is verified by an automated test.
Data is currently hosted in the United States.
Everyone you add to your organization can see your organization's data. You can see that list, and remove people from it, inside the app under Settings → Users in this organization.
Classroomcompass admin hold administrative credentials to the hosting account, which technically permit reading any organization's data. That access exists to provision new organizations, apply database migrations, and diagnose faults. It is not used to look at student records, and any support request that would require doing so will ask for permission first.
Your logins for external systems are stored encrypted on your own device, using the operating system's credential protection. They are not transmitted to Classroomcompass and are not stored on our servers.
Where parent texting is enabled, message contents and recipient numbers pass through the messaging provider configured for your organization and a log is kept in your organization's own database.
Records are kept for as long as your organization uses Classroomcompass. On request, or on ending service, your organization's database and files are deleted. You may optionally ask for an export of your data.
The information here concerns minors, and it comes from you rather than from them: students do not create accounts, and the software does not collect anything from a student beyond the attendance their scan records. Your center remains the party with the relationship to the family.
